While naming a label it reminds you of legend, but also of prestige and lively emotions, then it handles about an author’s wine: Teroldego Rotaliano “Dragon’s blood”.
Spearhead among the firm’s wines, it is produced in limited edition, selecting the best grapes of Teroldego coming from Maso Donati’s vineyard at the foot of Mezzocorona’s Castles. In this historical vineyard vines are even 90 years old, giving higher complexity and balance to the produced grapes.
According to the local legend the vineyard gets its origin from the blood a terrible dragon spread on the ground and from those fertilizing drops the first Teroldego “Dragon’s blood”’s vines were born.
Matured in wooden cask barrels, for at least 18 months, it shows a pleasant softness, full-body and structure. Scents of soft fruits give way to a more evolutionary perfume of blackberry and dried fruits, soaked in a sweet spicy persuasiveness. In the mouth it reminds of tones of plum and dark chocolate; a pulpy structure with soft and ripe tannins. It evolves very well with ageing.
It is considered one of the best expressions of this main Trentino vine and as time passes by it obtained the most prestigious and ambitious prizes and critics of the field. A fulfilling wine at every sip.
